About Us

We never set out to start a preschool, let alone a nonprofit. Like many parents, we were simply searching for a safe, nurturing place where our children could grow—somewhere that cared equally for children and the teachers guiding them. But after experiencing multiple preschools, we were disheartened by what we saw: staff experiencing burnout, toxic environments, and a lack of support for both children and educators.

With no background in early childhood education, we made an unexpected decision—to open our own preschool. What began as a personal mission to give our child a better start quickly opened our eyes to something far greater: the power and importance of early childhood education.

Through the guidance of experienced teachers, we saw just how foundational the preschool years are. It became even more apparent once our oldest entered Kindergarten. The difference between children who had access to high-quality early education and those who hadn’t was heartbreaking. Many struggled with the structure, the academics, and social interactions. Some were labeled as disruptive, but the truth was—they were simply unprepared.

It was painful to watch children fall behind so early, not because of their potential, but because of their lack of opportunity. We realized that a shaky start can lead to a lifelong struggle with school. On the flip side, we saw preschoolers thrive—blossoming with confidence, learning to read, exploring early math, and building resilience. Watching them walk out the door ready for the world was nothing short of inspiring.

That’s when our mission grew. We understood that supporting children meant supporting the whole family—and the broader community.

Montessori Charities was founded to give more children access to strong educational foundations by providing scholarships, classroom materials, mentorship, and family resources. We believe every child deserves the chance to thrive, and when we support our children, we strengthen our communities.
